The Cocoa Room Breakfast
This month has been epic. Mehreen started school and that means we are all up by 6am. The beginning of a new era for the FoodKissed family, as we are that family who used to find happiness in slumber till noon. This month has also seen us enjoying breakfast out, thrice – all of which has been blessedly successful. Today’s blogpost will be about our breakfast experience at the Cocoa Room, located at the Galleria Mall in Jumeirah.
Breakfast is served only till 11.30 am here in Cocoa Room, so make sure you are earlier than that to claim your seats. The restaurant has large sections of seating and from a morning haven of fresh croissants and hot shakshuka, when the clock strikes 1pm, it transforms into a casual lunch spot, called The Slider Station.
Our order that morning comprised of the signature CR Hot chocolate, Wild Mushroom Benedict, Eggs Menemen and Chai. A little bit of west meets east, if you may. The CR Hot Chocolate came recommended by our server. Must give it to him, here was a drink of such decadence that each sip was a festive treat. The Valrhona milk 46% and the Valrhona dark 66% celebrated the perfect honeymoon with the half and half that formed the base of the drink. For 35 dirhams, this is a chocolate drinker’s nirvana.
My Wild Mushroom Benedict cost Aed 50 and by the time I was done with it, I was a stuffed and pleased teddy bear, ready for a snooze. The croissant was a fresh, squishy, buttery paradise on which was placed the organic eggs and hollandaise, wild mushrooms and a blessed amount of truffle. I devoured the dish, as what should be rightly done with this kind of meal. Am I willing to risk my reputation vouching for this dish? Yes, I’m.
The husband’s Eggs Menemen was a vibrant red and looked gorgeously grammable. The flavors took us back to our short stay in Istanbul where we had wolfed on authentic street-side menemen in all its glory. The organic eggs together with the red chilli, bell peppers and tomatoes created a delicious gravy to dip my pita in, and the feta was just…well…cheese on top! #enoughsaid

Cocoa Room menu is not for the faint-hearted. I had firmed my head on a savory breakfast, and ultimately ended up with the Valrhona hot chocolate by my side (I never claimed to be strong-willed). While I absolutely have no regrets about it, I do intend to return one day to explore the many promising items on the menu, enough to make any dessert lover weak on her knees. I’m talking Lotus Dreams Pancakes, Buttermilk Waffles, Lemon Pie Cruffins & Cinnamon roll French Toasts. **breathing deeply**
From a surprisingly perfect chai to a remarkably delicious benedict, breakfast at Cocoa Room was nothing short of a grand success. Good service and great interiors accentuated the ambience and the entire experience is a win, whichever way you look at it!
Cocoa Room – The Pricing Story:
CR Hot Chocolate – Aed 35
Wild Mushroom benedict – Aed 50
Eggs Menemen – Aed 40
Chai – Aed 20
